September 9 - Final Playtest

  • 9.9 Playtesters: Justina, John, Brad and David
    • Order of Operations, change Targets to Love Interests
    • OVERALL, just put an example of how a game would go
    • Include rules about Judges
    • Rules about Full hand of 5, able to discard card
    • Rules about discard piles
    • Rules about each person using one action card
    • Rules about how the worst card is chosen (1, 2 , 3, point to worst card)
    • Brad: Experiment with majority and minority (leaning towards the best card?)
    • Find an orientation for the gift cards and stick to it (problem with reading when holding gift cards in hand)
    • Some gift cards fit in other categories
    • Phrase blanks so that words will fit grammatically
    • Players jumped right into debate (1-2 sentences discarded)
    • Font, eligibility (would be cool if it could have personality
    • Gift cards -> Trait card
    • One-liner (just shout something like a pick up line)
    • Simplify the Declaration of Love card description
    • Maybe lower target entry on Keanu Reeves (have more players be able to engage in it)
    • Social interaction: it's up to the players
    • Reason to argue for other cards maybe?
    • Judges vs Free for all (Rotating judges)
    • The next judge places down the target and then judges after trait cards are placed
    • After a judge chooses maybe players can have a chance to argue against him
    • Balance of cards? (Bad shuffling or unbalanced?)
    • Five playtests, 20% of the time no one can get Keanu Reeves
    • Brad: who am I as the player? Sometimes I feel like a dating service (Tinder) or cupid or as a mistress, having a strong narrative
    • When everyone was arguing for their card, it was more fun
    • The trait card requirement of the target can be a score modify (additional stars), blanks are open, it is a bonus not a blocker
    • Ambiguity in the rules may make the game more fun
    • Revise the structure, easier game to manage (make the judges simpler)
