3/29 - Killing Your Baybee :(


Chairs... CHAIRS EVERYWHERE...

So in this meeting, we went over the stuff that we worked on in the past (approx.) five days. Vincent went over the current state of the decorating mechanic (as you can see above), Nicole went over the decor and furniture models she worked on, Dylan went over some beep boops that he made for sound effects and I went over the current story (at that time) that I wanted to showcase as well as the gameplay loop that would happen alongside gameplay.


At this point, we realized we had to cut down A LOT of stuff still despite starting small.


You see I originally designed based on the thought of having a full storyline but, after discussion with my team members, decided that we should have neighbors visit you which helped remove some of the extra coding work that Vincent would have to go through. Like how would the player move from out of their room to interact with other NPCs? And also the fact that we would then have to add some sort of movement to the player - or this could all be buttons. Regardless, we would work off the character skeleton that I had also done that week and create models for them and potential gifts and also new dialogue conversations while focusing on one NPC.


To sum it all up, our new gameplay loop would be something like this:
