Feedback

(Thank you Dylan for taking notes!)

  • More visual feedback for actions and when you’re in different places
  • Reduce confusion using more visual feedback with regards to actions and things that are happening.
  • People tend to stop after the first day because people think that that’s the end of the game
    • Although the game is not over yet, somehow communicate that
    • Alternatively, figure out why people think it’s the end of the game
  • Make the reflections of materials more realistic
  • Widgets to better control things such as rotation
  • Have the UI showcase be more clear and easier to make sense of things
    • In particular, illustrate the controls in a better way

Conclusion:

Making a game in three weeks is a good way to test your skills and learn new ones in a fast-paced environment (go put that on your resume!). But the best part was meeting new people in the community and making games again in Unity, which inevitably made me feel like I was back in college... many fun times! Definitely keep an eye out for the next Waffle Games Convention because it's FREE and you get to network or just befriend people :) (even within your own group like I did meeting Vincent and Dylan).
